In the age of technology there are a plethora of resources available online for creating the most inclusive learning environment possible for every student. I cam across this post by Matt Davis (2013) with a list of resources to help teachers prepare for a diverse classroom.

This is a TEDx talk from Melissa Cruz that touches on the bias we as teachers bring into the classroom. I think this is a very important concept when talking about adapting science curriculum for every student in the classroom, not just bias on race but bias with students with special needs. We have talked previously about this in another class and I think that getting to know your students and honoring their background and knowledge is one of the best ways to start off the year and to keep teachers from starting the year on assumptions. Back tracking to when we were first introduced to Flip Grid in this class, I think this would be a great tool to gather information from our students even before they step foot in the classroom.
